Put It Together Without a Winner

Purpose

Teachers: this lesson pulls CP-01 and CP-02 together. Students produce a neutral 6–8 sentence comparative paragraph that synthesizes evidence from both cases, uses accurate comparison language, keeps the one core pattern — one topic at a time, with both cases in every sentence — and stops before delivering an unsupported judgment. Block organization is optional Level 3–4 stretch only: never required, never graded, and never taught as an alternative core pattern. This is the foundation for the planned Qualify (hedged claims), Argue (position + counterclaim), and Narrate pathways — students must be able to hold two cases fairly side by side before they hedge them, argue between them, or narrate across them.

Grammar target

Write a neutral 6–8 sentence comparative paragraph that names both cases, cites at least four pieces of evidence (at least two per case) by topic, keeps the one-topic-at-a-time pattern from start to finish (each sentence gives both cases on one topic), uses both … and for a similarity and but for a difference, and ends with a no-winner summary.

How do I put both cases together in one paragraph and say what is the same and different — without saying which one is better and without claiming a cause?

Objective
