Compare the Evidence
Students read two labelled evidence cards side by side. They say one detail that is the same with Both … and, one detail that is different with but, and one line about what the evidence does not tell them.
Grammar target
Write one same sentence with Both … and (plural verb, plural noun) and one difference sentence with but. However and -er comparatives are optional Level 3–4 stretch.
Objective
Students can write one Both … and sentence and one but sentence about two pieces of evidence, and can name one thing the evidence does not show.
